Higher education is undergoing changes globally and in Malaysia. In these times, understanding the student-institution relationship will enhance the higher education experience of students, academics and institutions. The 2-hour seminar explores the role and rights of students in higher education against their relationship with higher education institutions. Starting with the traditional position of students in universities and colleges and their present status in law, the seminar will proceed to examine the implications of education as a consumer service. It will conclude with a discussion on emerging views of students as partners in the production of education.
